Good afternoon,

This week, as part of our project and developing the young workforce curriculum, we have been continuing to learn about the different jobs people do. This week we learned about people who help us in the community, including the dentist, firefighters, police officers, the vet, doctors and nurses. Next week we would like to learn about other jobs and have brought a letter home in our school bags today to explain how we are going to do this.
Following our lesson about the role of the dentist, we learned about how to look after our teeth and were excited to take home our new toothbrushes and toothpaste.
This week we learned to recognise, say and write the letters a,t and s. We also learned their position in the alphabet and to recognise words with the a, t and s sound in them. We were proud to be able to read and write the words a, at, as and sat. Thank you for consolidating these at home as next week we will learn another 3 sounds and more words.
Finally, we were thrilled that our perseverance paid off and we arrived at the Daily Mile Destination of Egypt today.
I hope you loved your childs Christmas card artwork that went home with them today and a gentle reminder that the Artwork form and design must be returned to school no later than Wednesday 6th October, ( in the plastic pocket provided) ready for uplifting by Cauliflower Cards.
Have a lovely weekend
