Good afternoon,
This week we were proud to be part of the MacMillan and Race for Life awareness raising events at school. The children shared and developed their understanding of charities and of the important work of medical researchers.
They shared their hope that researchers will create vaccines for all disease, just like they have for covid-19. Some of the class said that they would like to be medical researchers when they are adults.
This week we also increased our awareness of the people who help us in school. We interviewed the janitor, the cook , Mrs.Howie and Mrs.McIntosh. We all feel that we know who to turn to for help with various jobs; from refilling our paper towels to changing our lunch choice.
Next week we are looking forward to learning about people who help us in our community.
The children were thrilled and proud to reach Russia in our Daily Mile Destinations Challenge on Thursday, although slightly horrified to learn (during our research) that Russians enjoy cold soup as well as warm soup!
Our next destination is Egypt !

Have a super weekend
Mrs.Davie and P1a.
