Good afternoon,
This week was World Book Week 2024, an annual event that celebrates the joy of reading and the value of books. It is celebrated in over 100 countries around the world, and is particularly important in schools, where it promotes a love of reading, raises awareness of different genres, encourages creativity, supports literacy development, and fosters a sense of community.

We welcomed World Book Week this week with a live event. We joined Bernard Mensah as he read aloud from his book, `Kwame`s Magic Quest`, where magic, adventure, and friendship come together in  an action-packed, fully illustrated early chapter book.

On Tuesday we listened to the author Catherine Rayner read aloud her book, `Arlo The Lion Who Couldnt Sleep`, a beautifully illustrated story with a gentle mindfulness message. The reading led to lots of discussions about sleep, sleep routines and what we could do if we cant sleep.

We had lots of counting fun with the author,`Kael Tudor` on Wednesday as he read his book, `One Goose, Two Moose`. a hilarious book about animals trying to line up for the ice-cream van.

On Thursday we were pleased to welcome our adults into class to share a couple of  `Charlie and Lola` stories. Thank you for making the afternoon a special one.

We ended the week with another live author event. This time we participated in a draw-along session with Axel Scheffler. Im sure you will be recieving lots of drawing lessons from your budding illustrators this weekend.Good Luck! They are strict!

Have a lovely weekend
