Good afternoon and Happy December,

The welcome of December today was the highlight of the week for the youngest in our school. We decorated the classroom and even made our very own tree decorations which, although will be coming home at the end of term, are making our class Christmas tree look beautiful just now.
We also have a class Advent Calendar Book Collection which we started today.  Each day a different child will take a turn to unwrap a book to share with the class, before taking it home to add to our own bookshelves at home. This was a purposeful introduction to revisiting the Nativity Story which they were undoubtedly introduced to at nursery.
December is a fun-filled month of learning in Primary School and this week we followed instructions and counted carefully to create our second product to sell at the school fayre on Friday 8th December, `Reindeer Food`, which we will be selling for 50p. Our writing lesson this week was about writing lists and we wrote lists of ingredients used in our Reindeer Food product for other classes to use, if they wish. It was a relevant and meaningful context in which to write.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs.Davie, P1 and Ted.
