Good afternoon,
The highlight of the week was learning about 3D shapes.
The children were excited to discover a construction area full of colourful 3D shapes on Monday morning. There were cubes, cuboids, spheres, cylinders and cones. Each day this week the focus was upon a different shape. The children were learning to identify, recognise and name each shape. They were learning to describe each shape using mathematical vocabulary and by recognising their 2D faces. The children also recognised these shapes in everyday objects and in the world around them.
Indoor PE is also proving to be a highlight of the children. They are thoroughly enjoying their time in the hall and now that the weather is less favourable, PE will be taking part indoors every week. The children are becoming confident and independent in taking their gym shoes out of their trays, getting their shoes changed and in returning their gym shoes to their tray.
