Good afternoon,
Following the long weekend the children returned voting for `Mr. Big` to be shared during story time. This story was a lovely way to introduce our new maths topic of Measure. First we explored `height` and compared the height of our classmates. We used the vocabulary of height to describe our observations. Then, following the `Potato and Spoon Race` during Sports Day, we explored `weight` by comparing the weight of the potatoes. We used our own judgement by holding them in our hands and later by using the 2-pan balance. Finally we compared `length` and `area` during Outdoor Learning on Friday. We used sticks and leaves for our comparisons. Next week we will explore `capacity`.
The highlight of our week was of course,`Sports Day`. The class had a lovely morning and one of the children suggested we do it every week !
