Good afternoon,
December is the most magical month at primary school; Christmas trees, decorations, parties, pantomines, advent calendars and the Nativity Show. Primary 1a are fully embracing it all!
Not surprisingly, December provides the most motivational contexts for learning. This week with the arrival of the class advent calendar came the need to learn the ordinal numbers: first, second, third, fourth and fifth and so on. There's nothing like the prospect of opening a chocolate calendar to inspire and drive the learning of ordinal numbers and indeed secure that number recognition!
Turning to the last page and therefore last month of our 2021 class calendar also provided a meaningful context to learn about the months of the year. Today I uploaded the link to the Months Of The Year song we use in class, onto Seesaw, so that you can practise this at home too.
