Good afternoon,
Our term was brought to a close with a fun Easter themed day. We were thrilled to discover that we had been visited by the Easter bunny overnight as we found chocolate eggs throughout our class area this morning. This provoked a Discovery Time full of Easter bunny capture plans (including the creation of a decoy carrot from building bricks and a net from some of our dressing up fabric) ,and possible bunny sightings!
After break we practised our addition sums with a colour- by- answer Easter bunny and Easter egg worksheet. We are getting quite profficient at using the counting on strategy where we put the biggest number from the sum in our head and add on the second number using our fingers. ( see this addition strategy in action in Fridays Mental Maths session on Seesaw ).
In the afternoon we enjoyed sharing the Easter story `Hop'.
