In Numeracy, children have moved on from fractions to decimals. We have been working on identifying decimals on a number line and adding and subtracting decimals. Next week, we will move onto multiplying and subtracting decimals.

Children have been learning about Shrove Tuesday and Lent. The children came up with 40 positive things they could do over the 40 days of Lent. We will review these each week and see if they have successfully carried out at least one a day.

We hosted a transition visit for Pitreavie P.S this week. The children participated in four different activities, all with the aim to get the children to interact with each other. Both Canmore and Pitreavie pupils were fantastic! It was so lovely to see the children getting to know each other and helping one another in the activities.

We have entered a couple of competitions this week. One for World Book Day and one for Dunfermline’s Children Gala. The children were to create the brochure cover for Dunfermline’s Children Gala. The theme was ‘Through the Decades’. We had a fun afternoon looking at the fashion and music through the decades. For World Book Day, the children created a national book token. Some brilliant, very creative ideas!

World Book Day was a big success! Some fabulous outfits; including the Friends cast and a range of Anime characters. In class, the children participated in the World Book Day Bumper Book Quiz. The winning team will be announced on Monday.

Hope you have a great weekend, Mrs Forrest.
