What an amazing week this has been in P7!

The absolute highlight of this week was the visit to Fife Airport as part of the Grand Prize in the Air Race Challenge, so kindly provided by Aero Space Kinross. The children experienced drone flying, a virtual reality experience using headsets, a chance to chat with a pilot from Jet2 to discover all about career options, a tour of the hangers with the chance to get up close to several aircraft, a visit to the Air Traffic Control room and, of course, for 18 children from across the cohort, a flight in a light aircraft. – what an experience!  A massive thank you to Alisdair Stewart, Hannah Nisbet and all of the volunteers and helpers from Aero Space Kinross who made this day possible.  Thank you so much too to our parent helpers who helped support the children. We even made it onto TV!  STV News (Dundee Area) covered the event. If you’ve not had the chance to see the clip yet or to see some of the photos from the day, they are on Seesaw. Have a look. More photos to come too.

Eight of our cohort attended Fife Airport on Tuesday instead of Wednesday as the Canmore P7 Hockey team were in competition at Woodmill High School in the Regional Finals. The winning ethos of this year’s P7 cohort continued here too as the team finished in first place. They will now move on to play in the Scottish Primary School Finals – very well done to all.
On Thursday, we said farewell to Mrs Baxter, our music teacher, who has now started her retirement, with a lovely assembly and the choir sang so beautifully to her.

Next week we have a short visit to Dunfermline High School on Wednesday the 24th to experience some practical lessons and meet some of the staff.  Full school uniform will be required that day.
I hope that you all have a well-deserved and relaxing weekend.
Mr. Morgan.
