Once again here we are at the end of another busy week of learning in P7. It really is hard to believe that we are already four weeks into term four!

This week the highlight of the week was on Tuesday with the visit of some STEM Ambassadors from DHS along with Mrs Hedley-Forrest the PT for Science. The Young STEM Ambassadors were new S4’s and were all ex-Canmore pupils too. On a personal note, it was so nice to catch-up with and see some of my old P6’s doing so well at DHS and their enthusiasm for STEM was very clear for all to see. They helped deliver lessons on chemical reactions and the children enjoyed their visit.

In literacy, we have been continuing to look at recounting information in a clear and structured way and have looked at our recent experiences at Ardroy and with NASA. We will continue with this theme later next week when we return from Glenrothes and our time with Aerospace Kinross as part of our Air Race Challenge prize.

This visit will take place on Wednesday for most pupils with the exception of the members of the P7 Hockey team who will visit on Tuesday instead as they are attending the finals of the Hockey festival on the Wednesday. These visits will be for a full day, leaving just after 9.00am and returning before 3.00pm. Part of the day provides the opportunity to fly professional drones, however, this requires that the children are registered with the CAA to fly them. Should you wish your child to have the chance to fly a drone, there are important links and information in Seesaw for you to look at and complete along with your child. The certificate of completion of the Drone Training must be forwarded to myself by Monday. Registration is free and the process only takes a short while to do. This is optional but it’s such a wonderful opportunity! Please check Seesaw for all links.

I hope that you all have a relaxing weekend and I will catch up with you again next Friday with news from our week.

Mr. Morgan.
