Good afternoon everyone.

Here we are at the end of term and at the end of a few blocks of learning too. Our WW2 topic came to an end this week as we watched the film ‘Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ and considered the lives those caught up in the war. We have completed our class novel ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’ too by comparing the movie to the film. It was so heartening to see so many of the class awarding the book a higher review rating than the film. The novel has really caught the imagination of many of the class as it too highlights the difficulties of life during WW2. Please ask you child all about their learning this term and look out for some of their work which should be in their bags.

In STEM this week we continued our new learning on how to carry out a fair test/experiment by creating a control experiment. We then repeated the experiment with a single variable changed. The depth of discussion and engagement in their learning was fantastic to observe as they closely observed, hypothesized and recorded their finding on how salt dissolves in water. Please ask your child all about this, I’m sure you too will be proud of their efforts.

Congratulations to Ava Morris who is our final Social Target winner of the term.

Term 4 starts on Monday the 17th of April, which of course for most of the class, will be the start of a week full of preparation and excitement as we look forward to departing to our residential week away to Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre the following Monday. Term 4 will be their final term at Canmore and will be one full of many wonderful experiences. Lots and lots to look forward to!

Until then, I wish you all an absolutely fantastic and well-earned Easter break and hope that whatever your plans are that you are able to share lots of family time together.

Happy holidays!
Mr. Morgan.
