Is it really Friday already?  Another week has come to an end already and the term is just flying in!

Today we say goodbye and give our best wishes for the future to Miss Wiggins, our student teacher, who has been with us for the last five weeks. The children have really responded well to her during her time with us and benefited from her teaching. Thank you from all of us. As Miss Wiggins is already a talented dancer, she has been sharing some of those talents with the class over the last few weeks. This culminated on Wednesday with a short creative dance with theme ‘Dance Through the Decades’. If you’ve not had the chance to view your child’s dancing please check out Seesaw. Well done all for your efforts.

In numeracy this week we have been continuing to work on fractions, decimals and percentages. In literacy we have had a real focus on our reading comprehension skills which have been linked to our class novel Goodnight Mr Tom. The children are responding very well to this and are already feeling more confident.

Thank you to so much to Mr McLean, one of our parents, who came into class on Tuesday to share his experiences of working for the leading retailer in the UK and to discuss the wide range of careers an employer of this type can offer. The class were really fascinated with just the enormous scale of the operation. Hearing first-hand about potential career choices is so helpful to the children as they get closer to moving on to High School and making subject choices. Thank you from the whole P7 cohort for your time and support – as well as the egg-shaped chocolate gifts!

Canmore’s P7 football team played in a tournament at St. Columbas High School on Monday. They were undefeated throughout the whole event - well done to everyone who took part, and thank you again to Mr McLean for your support in walking the team to the event and to those who came along to support the team.

On Tuesday we had a P7 team attend the Rotary Club Quiz at Masterton PS. We did really well and came third. However, this was a very, very close run result with just few points separating the top three places. We are all very proud of the efforts of the whole team and those who put themselves forward and entered the earlier qualifying rounds back in class.

Congratulations to Ava Morris who is this week’s social target winner. I hope that you all have a super weekend.

Mr. Morgan.
