December has finally arrived and we are now fully in Christmas craft mode as we prepare for our Christmas Fair on the 9th of December. Pupils are busy making scented jars which will be sold for £1 and Christmas wreaths which have fitted LED lights £5 each. All proceeds will go to supporting the school. Please look out for your child’s adverts on SEESAW next week ahead of the Christmas Fair on Friday.  If you are unable to attend please send your money in with your child.

On Wednesday, we celebrated St. Andrew's Day with some Scottish Country dancing and some Scottish themed artwork. Well done to everyone who helped mark the day by wearing a touch of tartan.

Wednesday also marked the end of the Primary Air Race Challenge 2022 and below you can find a link to our submission for you to view. The children have all worked very hard on their learning and I hope you will enjoy seeing, reading and hearing all about their enthusiasm and enjoyment of this challenge. I have added this link into Seesaw too should you wish to view it from there. The children, Mrs Watt and I would love to hear your feedback – it would mean so much to them.

In literacy, in our writing work, pupils successfully persuaded myself and Mrs Watt to pause homework for the festive period. Such an impressive quality of persuasive writing - well done everyone! Homework is now optional until the end of term for all pupils.

In numeracy, we looked at the properties of circles, all pupils calculated circumference using a formula whilst many others calculated area too.  We will look at NETs, and explore symmetry and shape next week.

The P7 Area is looking very festive. The pupils have asked to run a class secret Santa so today all pupils are home with a name to organise a gift for. Please help your child with this and have the gift returned by Friday 16th December. Secret Santa works best when each child taking part exchanges a gift - we don't want anyone missing out! So please get in touch if you need help.

Please keep an eye out for emails and communications from the school about all of the upcoming dates and times of the planned events. Its looking like a busy December!

I hope that you all have a restful weekend and I will catch-up with you all again next Friday.

Kind regards,

Mr. Morgan.
