Despite it being a shorter week than normal, we still managed to pack in so much learning.

The highlight of our week was the visit from Perth College UHI STEM team on Tuesday. Throughout the morning we took part in four STEM learning activities. Building towers, buildings, robotic cars and a rocket were all great fun. Everyone engaged in their learning and concentrated so much that many were so sad when the morning came to an end, so much so that we even managed to keep our visitors over lunchtime to squeeze in a little more learning time! I hope you enjoyed seeing the photos and videos on Seesaw.

On Thursday we shared our learning once more on the Air Race Challenge this time with both of our P6 classes. They were very impressed! Also this week, we have started to explore another part of the challenge to incorporate a payload for our drone. Not as easy as it sounds!  We will share our progress with you next week.

In numeracy, we looked at the use of scale and measurement. In digital literacy we looked at how to take a photograph using the compositional technique of framing an image. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of their work. There is an activity in Seesaw for this too. Please support your child with this at home.

As we move ever closer to December, we would welcome any old/spare Christmas decorations you may have to use in our class enterprise Wreath making workshops.  These will be available for sale at the Christmas Fayre. Pupils are looking to recycle and reuse as much as possible on their Christmas Stall. We would also welcome any Christmas decorations to make our classroom festive from the 1st December.

In literacy, we have been looking at note-taking and recounting information for use in a new text. We wrote about our STEM morning and Children in Need. The children worked very hard on this skill and produced some wonderful pieces of work. Please ask them more about this.

And talking of Children in Need; we finished the short week with lots of yellow and spottiness in class! It was lovely to see everyone get into the spirt and come to school dressed down, and, dressed up as Pudsey. Well done everyone!

Have a super weekend and I will catch-up with you all once again next Friday.
Mr. Morgan.
