A busy week of learning at Canmore PS - our pupils embraced the opportunity to complete reflective writing essays on their recent experiences in the school and, for some, at Ardroy..
Pupils have steadily progressed the length and depth of their essays and most complete 2 or more pages of independent writing. Well done.

In our maths we have continued to explore algebra and pupils have been discussing the use of maths in the world of work.

This week the weather has been lovely so we were delighted to take the cohort out onto the field for PE for a game of rounders. We look forward to using the field for Sports Day and will be doing lots of races in our PE slot so please ensure your child has a change of footwear for re-entering the school.

In our STEM lessons we welcomed previous pupils back to our school to deliver Young STEM Ambassador training. It was so lovely to see the new S4s and the lessons on chemical reactions was exciting and fun.

We also took part in a pipe cleaner engineering challenge delivered by Mrs Smithson. As some of you will already know Ruth is an invaluable parent helper who has voluntarily given her time to run the award winning school lunchtime Science Club. Our pupils are regularly in awe and positively inspired by her workshops!

We look forward to the Air Race Challenge Grand prize at Glenrothes airportĀ  this Weds 17th 9am-2ish. Your child has a permission slip to attend home with them. Please ensure this is signed and returned. Pupils will all be given the opportunity to take part in some VR drone experiences. Time going well pupils will also be given the opportunity to fly a drone and if they are interested in this please complete the Drone Flyer Training and forward me the completion certificate as outlined on SEESAW. As part of the day there will be an airport tour and the chance to get inside some of the aircraft on the apron - if you have your own hi-viz vest please bring it on the day - Thank you!

Congratulations to Lewis Forsyth our social target winner.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Watt & P7
