First term has been completed to an impressive standard and right up to the bell the children were writing their movie/book comparison study of Holes by Louis Sachar.  Themes of friendship, racism, justice and responsibility ran throughout the story and P7a were full of discussion of their favourite and most fascinating parts of the story.

Next term we will be hoping to read War Horse and we have scheduled a viewing of the film during the school day on October 29th at the Rothes Halls as part of the Book and Film festival.  A letter including all the details will be home when we come back.

Our China topic will continue for the first few weeks back before our focus turns to Ardroy and the John Muir Award.

It was great to meet the parents of P7a during the parents evening sessions and I am confident that Term Two will be as equally impressive.

Our numeracy focus will be decimals, money, addition and subtraction, time and shape.

We took time to reflect on our learning journey and some pupils couldn't believe how much we have achieved in 6 weeks! Next term is 9 weeks so even more time to fill with exciting learning and application.

Please take time to visit the blog and reflect on the learning this time. Lots of dialogue helps to embed the learning and the children have lots to share!

Enjoy the holiday fortnight and if you are lucky enough to get away somewhere nice please send a postcard or bring back a souvenir to share with the class in the first day back!

Thank you P7a for a brilliant term!
See you soon
