Halloween fun seems so long ago as Monday becomes a distant memory by Friday. There are so many rich learning experiences on offer in our school and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed creating their Halloween jokes and we hope you enjoyed them too!

P7A have risen to the challenge of the Kinross Air Race. This week the children worked together to create King Malcolm of Canmore International Airport in our wet bay area. Gates P7A and P7B handle both arrivals and departures. Flight training continued and our Tech Team Elite Harry Dickson and Olivia Beal took the pupils through a drone flight programme.  This Friday P7 will host Canmore Primary School's very first Air Show in the hall to younger classes.  Please ask your child about their role with invitations, flight training and all they have learned and experienced so far. Keep and eye on SEESAW for the highlights!

We had a fire safety talk by the local Fire Service who covered Bonfire Safety with the children ahead of this weekend's events.  Pupils have also watched a Gun Powder Plot BBC documentary and discussed the impact of beliefs and actions.

In maths we have continued to explore position and movement. Pupils have linked their knowledge of compass points to bearings and angles.  We have been showing pupils how to correctly use protractors to measure angles, mark bearings and use maps. We have also looked at scale and enjoyed an outdoor learning task using string and landmarks around the world - how many did you guess correctly?

Congratulations to the Hockey team who brought home silver medals - well done everyone!
In PE pupils were dancing to the Military Two Step and we hope to invite parents in to Ceilidh - dates are being looked into so we will keep you posted! Pupils are also practising for the Sportshall Athletics tournament. A team will be chosen shortly to participate in a range of indoor athletic events.

Congratulations to Ewan Lowrie our social target winner.

On Monday we welcome a visiting author as part of our developing the young workforce programme. We are delighted to provide this opportunity to our pupils and hope to see many of them take on the role and get their writing published.

We move onto our new topic Conflict next week and will observe Poppy Day with the nation on Friday 11th. Please ask your child about what they understand about Poppies and Poppy day - we hope you will be impressed with their learning.
