Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent Contact evenings this week. It was lovely to meet parents face to face and if for any reason you have missed this opportunity please contact the school office and we can see what we can do to fit you in with a telephone appointment.

P7A have developed their poetry writing this week in the context of Chinese New Year.  Our pupils have been learning about the spring festival and wrote about what it would feel like celebrating on the streets of Beijing. Pupils compared it to the New Year Celebrations here in Scotland and found the idea of an annual calendar based on the lunar cycle quite fascinating.

In maths we have begun looking at revision of division with and without remainders, extending into decimal values and long division bus stop method. We will continue this next week.

In our STEM lessons we have been looking at our first Air Race Challenge - please talk to your child about this challenge.

We enjoyed a class breakfast this morning organised by P6 pupils in support of MacMillan Cancer Research Charity.  This charity is very close to my heart after the support they showed my late father in law.  It was a special time together and we look forward to our class lunch next Thursday.  Pupils are invited to bring a packed lunch if possible (school dinners will eat in the classroom with packed lunches, Myself and Mr Morgan) as we round off the term together.

Next week we will also receive a special visit from Janet Lowe from the Carnegie Rotary Club to share more information on this year's writing, photography, art and environment competitions.

Congratulations to Lewis Forsyth our social target winner this week.

Have a lovely weekend.
