P7 Update – Week 7

The whole P7 cohort have been working hard this week and pulling together lots of elements of our Leaver’s show – The Next Big Step! This week was the first time that we had a full run-through of all the scenes with all the songs and dances performed too. Their performance skills are really coming along so well. Our stage will be going up next week and more rehearsals are planned for when the pupils are back in school. The excitement is definitely building!

All children have now been issued with their own script and have been asked to ensure that they are able to perform script free as soon as possible. Pupils have also been asked to gather their costumes together too. As the theme is school related, the costumes should be easier to source and possibly be made up from what you have at home. Those that have a part in the Nativity scene, costumes may need more thought as what we have in school might just be a little small now for our growing P7’s! Old sheets and tea towels will be perfect. Please check with your child to see what they need.

The other highlight of the week was the visit on Wednesday from Fife Fire Service who came into school to talk with the P7’s and the P6’s about fire safety and the impact that wilful fire-raising can have on the service and it’s potential to prevent them from saving lives and property if they are called-out without need. The class were very impressed by the way that the officers spoke with them and with what they had to wear to keep themselves safe in a fire. Thank you to the Fire Service for this important message.

A quick reminder that Monday is a bank holiday and that there’s an In-Service day on Tuesday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Wednesday. We also hope that the sun shines for you and that you have a lovely long weekend.
