Welcome to our regular weekly P7 update.

The highlight of the week has to have been that our field is now once again available for sports activities, as well as for break and lunchtimes! Sport has been a major theme of our week.

We took advantage of the field being open for our Rugby Taster session on Wednesday afternoon. Thank you to Matthew from Dunfermline Rugby club for coming along to school. These taster sessions will run for three more weeks on Wednesday afternoon. This week the weather was kind to us but we may not always be as fortunate. Please can you help your child ensure they are prepared for outdoor sports by having a change of footwear and clothing with them.

It was great to hear that the team that went to McKane Park this week to play rugby did so well. Also, this week some of the class have had hockey training ahead of the Hockey Festival on the 15th of May at Woodmill.

Continuing the sporting theme, in topic, we have continued to look at the Olympics and we have learned about what the opening ceremony represents and just how different it will be this year in Paris. Did you know that for the first time it will not be in a stadium but instead a lot of it will be on boats?

In art this week we have improved our black and white still-life artwork of our sports shoes and we are now ready to move on to a coloured version. Look out on Seesaw next week where we will post our finished black and white still-life.

This week in numeracy we have been focusing on time and how to convert between 12 and 24hr times as well as calculations of durations. Well done everyone, this learning is going very well.

In RSHP, we have discussed the importance of making and maintaining friendships. This included what we can do to be a good friend. This is particularly relevant to the cohort just now ahead of their move onto high school in a few months.

Congratulations to Megan who is this week’s social target winner.

It looks like the weather is set to be more unsettled this weekend but I hope that you all still manage a well-earned rest and some time together with your families. Have a super weekend!

Mr. Morgan
