P7 Weekly Update

Welcome back to Term 2 and I hope that you all had a super holiday and that the weather wasn’t too bad for you.
We have started the term off in the same busy way that we ended last term. Miss Hunter has been teaching the class this week and she will be working with the children for the next couple of weeks too.

In literacy, we have been looking at developing our imaginative writing skills and with the upcoming events of this weekend and next week, we have used a Halloween theme. The class have started their stories and will be continuing to work on them next week too. Our art lessons have also been linked to and been used as support for our writing.
In numeracy we have started to recap on our addition skills and have been working on adding whole numbers and numbers to three decimal places.

For our topic we have continued to look at Japan and are working our way through the final chapters of our class novel Kensuke’s Kingdom. Please continue to read along with us at home if you wish.

In RME, we had super discussions related to moral education and the question of Japan, America and the use of atomic weapons.

For those who are coming along to the Halloween Disco tonight, I hope that you have a ‘spooktacular’ time (sorry, couldn’t resist it) and you have lots of fun.

Next week we will have another visit from the PARS on Monday, some will be attending the Hockey Festival, and we will be working with our P1 buddies on Friday – another great week!

Congratulations to our social target winners this week for their positive attitudes and mindsets.
I hope that you all have a great weekend - and the extra hour in bed too.
Mr. Morgan.
