We may not have been busy away to Dalguise but we were certainly very busy in class this week. Mrs Watt and I have ensured that the whole P7 cohort have been kept busy, active and enjoying a range of engaging learning activities.

We have had a real focus on STEM this week. The class have been working on using Microbits to plan and create a way to use Code to tackle climate issues. These ideas are being collated today ready to be sent off as our entry into the Code v Climate Challenge. We have some very strong ideas and we are confident about our entries but whatever the result of the competition, we still had a good time planning, designing, problem-solving and collaborating with each other. Fingers crossed for a good result.

This STEM focus was complimented throughout the week by a Fife Council STEM Superhero competition to design a superhero that tackles climate problems. I hope that you have enjoyed seeing your child’s work on Seesaw for this competition.

The class also put their problem-solving hats on for our Marshmallow/Spaghetti STEM challenge. BuildIng a strong structure using only these materials proved to be challenging, fun - but tasty too. I hope you enjoyed seeing their efforts on Seesaw.

Your P7 tickets for our performance of Rock Bottom should also have made their way home to you this week. The class have made a super job with their individual designs. Being able to add in a couple of extra rehearsals this week has been a welcome opportunity and rehearsals are continuing well. We will be looking at costume design and requirements next week and also perhaps a plea may be coming your way to look out for items you might have around the house that can be repurposed as props for the show.

On Wednesday we given the opportunity to participate in a rugby taster session run by Matthew Wilson from Dunfermline Rugby Club. The class had a great time with lots of red faces from all of their efforts by the end of the afternoon. We are hoping to have Matthew back in again next week too.
I hope that you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend.

Mr. Morgan.
