Welcome to Term 4 and what will be the final term for our P7’s at Canmore! This year has just flown by. I hope that you’ve all had a wonderful and relaxing couple of weeks break. The children have returned full of excitement for the term ahead and all of the great things that will happen within it.

For our leavers show, we have started off the term by seamlessly picking up where we left off in March. The songs are just so catchy and the children have done very well performing them this week. Individual copies of scripts have been issued and the class are working hard on learning their lines.  I have asked the pupils to ensure their scripts are returned to school each day if they ever take them home to read. Your support in looking out for this would be greatly appreciated.

As we are now using our Tuesday hall slot for our rehearsals, P.E. kit is only required on Wednesday’s. For all other days, school uniform, including tie, is required – leavers hoodies are welcomed as long as uniform is worn underneath.  We will still be participating in physical activities as part of our Outdoor time.
In Numeracy, we have been working on algebra and the class are working very methodically through their work. Super to see such diligence.

In Project, we are doing the final reflections and gathering together of work on our World at War topic. This included watching the end of the DVD ‘War Horse’. This was followed up with a contrast and compare activity with the book with many of the class preferring the book despite the wonderful cinematography of the film – such an uplifting story in whatever version you prefer!

Our next Social Studies focus will be one where we start to think about the future and look at the World of Work. We will be asking the children to undertake personal research and present information about their possible careers choices and the path they may need to take to get there.

Congratulations to Rebecca Fett who is our first Social Target winner of term 4.
I hope that you all have a great weekend.
Mr. Morgan.
