The last week of term!

It is hard to believe that our longest term is now at an end but we’ve had such a great week to round off Term 3.

The highlight of the week has to have been the arrival of the Leaver’s Hoodies on Wednesday. The excitement was just wonderful to watch as all of the P7’s were beaming from ear-to-ear. They all looked incredibly smart and a credit to you and Canmore.

In literacy this week we have looked at Spring Poetry and how we can use metaphors, similes, alliteration and descriptive passages to capture the feelings and the images of Spring. We were also at the end of our class novel War Horse and were enjoying comparing the book to the DVD. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the movie finished as a certain piece of clothing arrived! We will finish the movie off when we return in Term 4.

In numeracy, some looked at algebra and some at using scale to make measurements. On Thursday we used our skill with co-ordinates as part of an Easter themed scavenger hunt around our field.

Our WWII topic is now completed and we rounded this off by listening to Winston Churchill’s speech to celebrate the end of the war in Europe (VE Day). I hope you enjoyed hearing their version of a radio speech to the people.

The end of Term 3 and arrival of the leaver’s hoodies brings with it that realisation that after the Easter break we are on that final term and the push is on to squeeze so many exciting things in before the end of their time at Canmore.

However, before then, I hope that you all have a safe, healthy and relaxing holiday. Rest up and I look forward to catching-up with you again in a couple of weeks.

Mr. Morgan.
