I can hardly believe that it’s Friday once again!  The week has just flown by and it has been a week absolutely full of excitement.

Auditions for our show were of an amazing standard. Everyone did so well, and casting of the roles was such a difficult task. The buzz and excitement in class was fantastic! The excitement and laughter continued as we had our first read-through of the script. In Music, learning of the show songs is well underway too. They are so catchy and it’s been so nice to hear the songs getting sung or whistled by the class over breaks and lunches. Now that all roles have been allocated, we will start rehearsals next week.

Congratulations to Lilia who is this week’s Social Target nominee. I noticed Lilia taking time to help comfort and support one of our younger pupils who was waiting in our office area after falling and hurting herself. It was such a lovely, pleasing confirmation of the caring nature that we all know that she has.

In Numeracy, we looked at compass points and 3 figure bearings. The class worked well on this and we spotted real-life examples of where this was used during our Topic studies too.

In Topic, we looked at the Battle of the Atlantic and how German submarines hunted in ‘Wolfpacks’ to try to block vital supplies being delivered by ship across the Atlantic.

On Thursday, the class had a Handball taster session and details of where they can take this up is provide in a letter being sent home with them today. There were some very strong players in class.

In French, the class practised ordering food and they are looking forward to the French themed breakfast all together in the wet bay on Monday.

During World Book Day on Thursday, the class enjoyed joining a Scholastic Live event on MSTeams to create manga style comics.

I look forward to speaking with some of you next week during the upcoming parent contact sessions but for now I hope that you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend.

Mr. Morgan.
