Another busy week draws to a close and it’s been a super week.

As we get closer to the festive period we have switched some of our PE time to social dancing. Yes, it’s time for some Eightsome Reels and Dashing White Sergeants!  On Wednesday, the class returned from PE with Mrs Hay all red faced and feeling like they have definitely had a workout. We will be continuing with Scottish Country Dancing for the next few weeks. The class had lots of smiley faces too.

In Literacy, on Tuesday, the class looked at the reading skill of inference. They read, listened and worked hard on this, producing some excellent results. We also continued our focus on persuasive writing this time with a focus on the use of rhetorical questions. Again, they are taking this knowledge onboard very well and producing some super points when writing to persuade.

In our Japan topic, we looked at traditional Japanese sports and made some comparisons to Scottish sports. The stand-out fact that caused most discussion was about just how respected Sumo wrestlers are and just how much they eat – 10,000 calories a day!

In Digital Literacy, the class produced some super black and white images. I hope you liked seeing them on Seesaw.

In Numeracy, some of the class were asked to be the teacher for the lesson and teach how to do long division. I asked them to create a instructional video and it was great to hear the discussion about the best way to explain how to do long division. A real depth of understanding was very evident. I hope you enjoyed seeing the clips on Seesaw too.

I hope that you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

Mr. Morgan.
