Term 1 done! Can you believe that we are at the end of Term 1 already? It has just flown by.

The highlight of the week for me were our STEM experiments. Our completed volcanoes were looking absolutely amazing, and the faces of the children were amazing too as they learned about the mixing of chemicals to get a reaction, or should I say, an eruption. I hope you enjoyed seeing the images on Seesaw.

I think that the pupil choice for highlight of the week was our Silent Disco treat for their hard work this term. Mrs Watt was very resourceful and was able to get a short loan of the equipment. P7 Dancing the Macarena and doing a Conga around the class was a sight to behold. We even managed to squeeze in some Digital Literacy problem-solving into their fun too.

In Numeracy, a group of the class undertook the first set of questions for the Scottish Mathematical Challenge, and it was great to hear them return to class still discussing the maths problem-solving of some very challenging problems. The remainder of the class worked on Time and demonstrated a very good understanding of the subject.

In Art, we looked at how to draw Koi. The Japanese associate Koi with good-luck, good-fortune and good-health. The results of some of the class artwork was just fantastic. I hope you enjoyed seeing the results on Seesaw.

In Literacy, as Thursday was World Poetry Day, this week we combined our learning on similes, adjectives and metaphors with poetry. This was tricky at times but the class produced some lovely pieces of work. Our plan is to display these on a nice background and send them home for you. This will be at some point at the beginning of term 2.

The class have been an absolute pleasure to teach this term and I am really looking forward to the rest of the session with them. What a class you are P7!

I hope that you all have a restful and thoroughly enjoyable October break. Enjoy any planned breaks away as well as any days staying at home. The class mentioned that some of you are braving going camping, so I wish you good weather for those trips too.

I will see you all next term, batteries recharged and raring to go!

Have a super holiday everyone.
Mr. Morgan.
