The class have just been amazing and very hard working this week. I have been very proud of them.

In our context for learning, we have been learning about the location of Japan and how the geography of the country compares to Scotland. Next week we will look a little more closely at Tokyo and how it compares to our own capital city.

In Literacy, we have started to get our writing skills dusted off and produced our first imaginative story. We will return to this again early next week and look at how we can enhance our work by better use of imaginative descriptions.

The class received two safety inputs this week. On Tuesday, Police Scotland were in class to discuss how to stay safe online. This promoted some amazing discussions about safety and it was clear that we all finished the day a lot wiser – and safer. On Thursday, our second safety input was a virtual one on Substances via MSTeams from the charity Barnardo’s. The class asked lots of questions and, again, finished the day a lot wiser. Two fantastic sessions. Please ask your child all about their learning from these sessions, they were so engaged!

We used our Digital Literacy skills following the Police Scotland input to produce some posters in an electronic format. I hope you have enjoyed seeing what has been produced on Seesaw. It was clear from the posters produced that they took onboard the safety message very well.

Interviews for any pupils interested in applying for Junior Leadership positions, e.g. Head Boy/Girl, House Captains/Vice and Ambassadors, will take place on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Please support your child this weekend to help them prepare.

Congratulations to this week’s social target winners – Rebecca Gibson and Rosie Taylor. Well done girls!

I hope that you all have a safe, relaxing weekend, with the opportunity for some well-deserved family time to help recharge those batteries ahead of the start of the new week on Monday. Have a lovely weekend.

Mr. Morgan.
