Another week comes to an end in P6b!

Our new ordering system for school lunches is now working well in class and the children have settled in to ordering their food online from home, or first thing in the morning in class. In Mathematics, as we are revising Data Handling, we took the opportunity to discuss how data collection is used in a real-life context (ordering school lunches) to help prevent food wastage.

In Science, we have been following the growth of our Potassium Alum crystals (which we started last week). After some super-fast growth at the beginning, their growth has really slowed down. We will continue to keep an eye on them and experiment to see if we can change anything to speed up their growth again. We have also used the growth of our crystals to start recapping our report writing skills.

Again, but in ICT this time, we have used our crystal growing as a base idea to develop our use of the presentation tool – SWAY. These are a work-in-progress but they are starting to look good. Who would have guessed that you can get so much work across the curriculum from one crystal!
Mrs McIntosh has a suggestion for some edible crystals which we may just have to try!

There are some links to our SWAY’s in our class blog. Please find the link below.
