The children in Primary 6a have been involved in a lot of varied and interesting work with Mrs Hay and Mr Leitch this term.  We have been learning all about Mary Queen of Scots as well as learning, using and improving skills in research and investigation, decoding texts, debating and creating drama. Most of us have taken the role of historical characters given excellent presentations. In literacy we have developed our talking and listening skills and produced emails, scripts and articles.

We have also developed our skills in the use of language including onomatopoeia, metaphors, similes, writing balanced arguments as well as considering how to improve the quality of our writing.

In Numeracy we have covered a lot of ground including working on improving our understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages as well as covering area and measurement. We have also been working hard to improve our times tables and looking for patterns and connections across our number work.  There has also been a focus on improving our problem solving skills across the curriculum.

Some of our class attended a very successful hockey tournament and have been involved in lots of other activities this term.    Soon it will be our last term in Primary 6a and new adventures will await us on our return including our trip to Falkland Palace.

As we approach Easter holidays we wish everyone a peaceful and restful time with family and friends.
