Dear parents and carers,
It’s been a busy and exciting week in P6.
The performance at the Fife Festival of Music was wonderful. The children were a credit to themselves and the school. The adjudicator was very impressed with their 3 songs based on the story of Goldilocks in the courtroom. And most importantly, the audience could see that the children really enjoyed being on the stage. For those who couldn’t attend, we’ve uploaded the videos of a rehearsal online. Thanks again to the parent helpers who made it possible to attend, and for all Mrs Baxter’s work with the music classes.

We’ve been continuing our learning on how to use speech marks in our writing, and this knowledge will be put to good use when we kick off our Daily Write next week.
In maths, we continue learning about measure and have been looking at equivalent fractions, comparing them in pictures and writing them down as fraction stories.

For RME groups are fact-finding different places of worship so that they can share their learning with their class before half term. The buildings they have drawn are looking fantastic. Across the class we are researching 7 different religions.

Our John Muir programme has begun again with learning about helpful and unhelpful micro-organisms, which the children were good at identifying. It was exciting to explore popping yeast in balloons too.

We hope you have a fun February weekend,
Mrs Brand and Mrs Elvin.
