Dear parents and carers,

It’s been a busy short week in P6A.

In literacy, the children wrote persuasive letters to the council. They are now very good at structuring a letter making their request clear and stating points of evidence to back up an argument.

In maths we are focusing on subtraction and using the standard written method to solve problems.

We had a full day of STEM activities in the class on Tuesday with visitors hosting workshops on robot-making, construction, problem-solving and team-work in the hall. In the class, Primary 6 extracted DNA from a strawberry to develop our learning on living things. It was a fun-filled day of learning.

Our enterprise project is linked strongly to Textile Technology and the John Muir Award. Having dyed our fabrics with natural dyes, we are now learning to use a sewing machine to create bags.

We’re looking forward to the school trip on Tuesday.
Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Brand and Mrs Elvin
