Dear parents and families,
It has been a very busy week in P6A.
Literacy learning has been focused on learning to write detailed descriptions. The children using a description bubble to prompt their ideas and we practised aloud in the 'Guess What!' describing game and in our writing.
P6A's numeracy learning covered reading decimal numbers on a scale and making the connection between decimal fractions and fractions. We are gaining an understanding of hundredths as well as tenths.
Many of our Edinburgh drawings are ready for display and we have begun to develop skills in collage. The stick insects are doing well. The children have typed up their instructions on how to look after our class pets, as they practise using formatting and grammatical tools in Microsoft Word. We are now using our research skills to investigate Edinburgh's landmarks.
