This week our class has focused on communication skills. As part of our topic we have been learning about the outbreak of the Great War (WW1) and life in the trenches. We have been reading War Horse and are now at Chapter 5 if you would like to read along with us...

We have been learning about the roles of animals and specifically cavalry horses linked to the chapters.

Please look on SEESAW for photos of their trench diagrams and the trench periscopes we created in STEM. Our Japanese Paradise has now become a bit of a war zone as our classroom transforms with sandbags and propoganda posters all around!

In maths we have applied our learning to finding perimeter, area and volume.  We will be looking at measurement on various scales next week and hope to do a little cooking too!

In our gym this week we have introduced the children to carpet bowls and I look forward to developing the skills in the game with them this term. We will also be improving their steps with a block on Scottish Dancing in time for the P6/7 Christmas Party.

Congratulations to Brooke Sanders our Social Target Winner this week.

Next week we invite pupils to wear a touch of tartan on Thursday as part of our St Andrews Day celebrations and there will be a little class made shortbread (and a wee swish of Irn Bru) on offer.

With Friday being the 1st of December I have encouraged the pupils to dress a little festive but with the reminder that school uniform should be underneath on Mondays & Fridays as usual.

Pupils have created their own enterprise groups and begun crafting fot the Christmas Fayre on the 8th of December.

Other dates for your diary include the P67 Christmas Party which will be on Thursday 14th December (afternoon). Pupils are welcome to come dressed for the event!  Secret Santa names are home today and we ask that gifts are wrapped and in for Monday 11th to ensure they are ready to hand out at the party. (if taking part)

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Watt  P67
