This week P6/7 have been in the festive spirit creating lots of christmas crafts and singing christmas songs. Our pupils enjoyed their very last Canmore Nativity and it has begun to sink in with our P7s that high school is drawing near.

In maths this week we have continued to practise subtraction and explored lines of symmetry and how to rotate a shape around an origin. When we return in the new year we will be learning about grid position and division.

In ICT the pupils were budgeting and we applied a formula in Excel to help us total, and determine change. Pupils were budgeting and comparing the cost of planning a christmas dinner from different retailers. The winning supermarket was surprising! When we return in the new year we will be completing a block of learning on coding.

In writing this week we have focused on persuasive openers and using the persuasive techniques of Rule of Three, Rhetorical Question and Emotive Language in our texts. Pupils were given the context of cancelled Christmas holidays and their responses were passionate! Please read your child's work on SEESAW.

The christmas party was a lot of fun for everyone and the children all looked fabulous. It is so hard to believe that we are half way through the year! The green screen photo booth was very busy so please look out for some fun shots in your child's online folder.

Congratulations to Brooke Murray our social target winner this week.

Have a lovely weekend.
