Remembrance was the theme for the week and I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments and flowers.

Pupils explored Remembrance Day and learned about worldwide memorials and medals. They have learned about a variety of animals that supported the war effort including elephants, pigeons, dogs and horses.  Madison and Logan brought in service medals for the pupils to see and handle.  Everyone designed then created a medal to honour service across a range of fields - these are displayed in the classroom.

In our writing we have been continuing in the theme of the writer and completed a descriptive piece on PEACE. Pupils were asked to describe what peace meant to them and to focus on the content and presentation of their work. Please check these out on SEESAW.

In maths we have focused on perimeter and area, some children have been finding the area of right angled triangles and composite shapes. We will look at the properties of shapes next week as we begin to decorate the classroom for Christmas.

A few dates for your diary - our class Christmas Class Party is on  Thursday 14th December in the afternoon.
Pupils have asked to hold a Secret Santa and I have agreed to this. Your child will be home with a name to shop for - please support them with this. All gifts to be in school for Friday 9th December to avoid anyone missing out.

We ended the week with a Children in Need Fun day. Lots of pyjamas and fun! With some lessons which helped explore and explain the work of this very worthwhile charity. Well done everyone for fundraising for this super cause.

Congratulations to Julia our social target winner this week!
Enjoy the weekend,
Thanks
