Happy Chinese New Year celebrations were explored this week with all the children learning a little bit more about the lunar cycles and the Spring Festival.
Our pupils learned more about symbolism and the beliefs and superstitions of some Chinese people.  Pupils created their own feng shui money charms and these are home with your child.

In our language work pupils put themselves in the shoes of a soldier in the war. Life in the trenches was tough and the letters were powerful and emotional - please check your child's work on SEESAW.

In our maths our focus has been on measure, revising perimeter and developing our skills finding area and volume of cuboid shapes.  Our class have linked their understanding to working with angles and this will be revised/taught next week.

Our class novel War Horse continues and chapter 3 & 4 is available to read a long on SEESAW.  Joey has been sold and we are exploring character development in these chapters.

Conflict studies this week have explored key battles in the war for P6 and our P7 cohort have learned about operation Pied Piper and the mass evacuation of children from London and other large cities to the countryside in September 1939.

Our social target winner is Katie Hanna - well done!

Have a lovely weekend
