P67 have learned all about building positive relationships this week by exploring friendships and positive communication.

We reached the end of the class novel Kensuke's Kingdom and discussed the moral themes that underpin the storyline. Pupils have learned a lot about the way an author can convey purpose through language.  There was sadness in the last chapter as well as hope and this is available on SEESAW now if you want to read through it yourself.

In numeracy pupils have revised how to create equivalent fractions. Our P6s have shown progress with this and the reverse procedure for simplifying. Our P7s were quick with the approach and everyone finished the week finding fractions of quantities (some more complicated sums than others) well done everyone.

We learned about traditional Japanese sports including Karate, Judo and of course SUMO and compared these games to Scottish games.

In gym we have now shifted onto a block of lessons learning Social Dances in preparation for the end of term party,  Pupils are invited to dress in a touch of Tartan on St Andrews Day on Tuesday 30th November.

In Science pupils completed the Pom Pom Catapult challenge! Please ask your child about their creations.

Congratulations to Katie Hanna our social target winner this week.
Also, a special mention to Callum, Zack and Myla who have been asked to help narrate the P1 Nativity.

With the winter mornings creeping in please remember appropriate clothing.  I noticed some children without coats through the week and by break the temperature outside had dropped considerably. We go out for a daily mile walk most days so please bring hats and gloves and cosy coats if you can.

Looking forward to getting into December and embracinig the season pupils are invited to bring in decorations from the 1st of December.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Watt
