Welcome back to Term 4!

For maths we have been continuing our learning on fractions. We have been learning to find the fraction of amounts and we have linked this to our division work. We have also been consolidating our knowledge of fractions and equivalent fractions through a variety of games.

For Literacy we started the week with writing a personal piece about our holidays. It was lovely to hear everyone news. For grammar we have been learning about how to write direct speech. We have been reading a comic about climate change and then used this to write a text of direct speech making sure we used the correct punctuation.

For outdoor learning we have been exploring the school grounds looking for snails and other minibeasts. Thanks to all those who remembered to bring a change of shoes. Please can you make sure your child has a change of shoes and a waterproof jacket for outdoor learning.

In PE, we revisited handball. Some great skills in the class!

We are all very excited and looking forward to our trip on Wednesday to Dynamic Earth, please remember that your child is to wear school uniform and bring a snack, water bottle and packed lunch, Thank you to those parents who volunteered to come with us, we now have enough helpers for the trip.

This week we started our new project – Edinburgh. We were learning about key events of Edinburgh and the children created a timeline based on these events. Our project links in well with our trip to Dynamic Earth. Children will get to see some of the main attractions in Edinburgh such as Arthur’s Seat, Holyrood House, Scottish Parliament, etc... while travelling to Dynamic Earth.

We hope you all have a great weekend!
Thank you for your support,
