As it's been the RSPB big school bird watch, we have been looking at different types of birds we find in our playground. We been researching information and making PowerPoints about different birds. For art, we created a line drawing of a bird using different techniques to create tone.

For maths this week we have continued our learning on division. We have been learning about using partitioning to divide and have started to develop our understanding of using the formal written method of division, which we have been calling the bus stop method. We have also been developing our problem-solving skills and applying our knowledge to solve the sweets box problem and the I'm eight problem.

We have been learning about micro-organisms and fungi. We have started an experiment to explore what conditions would make mould grow more quickly. We look forward to seeing any changes next week.

For project, we have been learning about the heart this week. We completed an experiment that helped us understand the components of blood and how it is made up.

We have had a number of staff members making really positive comments about how smart P6 have been dressed this week. Lots of our P6 pupils have been making a super effort to meet uniform expectations and it has been noticed.

Mrs Howie has also awarded P6 'Class of the Week' for the second week running due to on-going super individual and collective efforts.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Thank you for your support,
Mrs Elvin, Mrs Forrest & P6
