For maths this week we continued our learning on money, we have been learning to budget. This week we had to budget to buy party food for a Christmas party. We had to think about how many of each item we would need for 30 people. We used our addition and subtraction skills, and times table knowledge to help us and we were able to calculate the cost and the change. We also looked at coordinates and were set a Christmas coordinates challenge. Some people were successful with creating Rudolf, Santa and Frosty the Snowman!

We were all very excited to have the S5 and S6 pupils from DHS come and teach us some Spanish and Ukulele. We learned some Christmas phrases in Spanish and how play 'Feliz Navidad' on the Ukulele. We used the Spanish vocabulary to write the inside of our Christmas cards.

For Writing we continued our explanation writing and were writing the instruction for how the Grinch stole Christmas. We had to ensure we used the success criteria of heading, subheading, time connectives and bossy verbs.

We entered a competition that the National Book Token website set, designing our own Christmas jumper designs. Some amazing creations!

We are looking forward to our party on Monday afternoon, Please remember to come dressed for the party.

Have a lovely weekend!

Thank you,
Mrs Elvin, Mrs Forrest & P6
