P6 Weekly Update

Great to welcome everyone back for Term 2. 

This week we finished off our place value learning with estimating numbers on a number line. Then we started our learning on addition by discussing what strategies we use to add numbers together. We will continue our learning on adding next week. 
We also finished our measurement topic with a review of all that we have done. We will move onto shape next week.

We have been excited this week by the opportunity to take part in the Rotary Art and Writing competitions. We have discussed the theme 'Rebuilding' and have started to create art, poems and stories. 

In project, we were looking into our star signs and creating an informational poster, all about our sign.

We enjoyed being back outside this week with our run club and with our outdoor learning. For outdoor learning we have been collecting leaves and looking at describing the colour of the leaves using a colour thesaurus. 

We will continue as the weather allows to go out for run club and outdoor learning on a Wednesday. Please can you make sure that your child has a waterproof jacket, and a change of shoes/wellies for outdoor learning. PE will also continue to take place on a Friday afternoon.

Also homework will be uploaded in the same way as last term and will start back up next week.
