It has been a wonderful first week to Term 4! I have really enjoyed catching up with the children and hearing all about their holidays.
In Writing, the children completed a recount of their Easter break. This was done in the form of free writing, so the children could choose how to present their work. Some made a comic strip, some a chapter book and some created a mind-map.
In Maths, we have moved onto a new topic – Time. P6 completed a pre-assessment this week and showed a great level of understanding. Our first focus was reading timetables.
We started our new project this week – Earth and Space. The children shared with me what they want to learn. Lots of great ideas! I am aware Mr Morgan’s class, from last year, covered some of this topic, but I have reassured the children that it will not be a repeat of this. It will be a follow on from this, pitched at a P6 level. P6 are enthusiastic and excited to start learning more about this topic.
A little note to let you know PE days will remain the same: Monday and Wednesday. We will also be carrying out Outdoor Learning on Thursdays.
