Welcome December and all the festivities to follow!

For maths this week, we have finished our learning on subtraction. We have been learning to subtract 3-digit numbers using the standard written method.  We have also been practising our quick recall of number bonds to support our subtracting. We completed our shape topic with an end of topic assessment. Overall P6 showed good progress.

For Writing, we have been continuing our learning on writing an explanation.  We have been writing instructions for our Christmas craft making sure we include title, subtitles, time connectives and images.

For health and well-being, we have been learning about courage and this week we have been looking at personality traits of a hero. In groups we each chose a famous person and planned a video clip about that person, what they did and how that makes them a hero.

For PE we have started to learn Scottish Country Dancing. We have been learning to dance Strip the Willow with the primary 5/6 class. We will continue our learning next week and will be joining together for gym. Please can ensure that your child has suitable indoor gym shoes on both Tuesday and Wednesday, We also have started handball in PE. The children were using their skills from netball to support them.

Have a lovely weekend!

Thank you,
Mrs Elvin, Mrs Forrest & P6
