Once again, here we are at the end of another week of learning. Where do the days go!
In literacy this week, we have briefly returned to imaginative writing to ensure that the skills we learned early in the year are retained. I have been amazed at the range of stories. What great imaginations the class have.
In numeracy, many of the class have really taken to learning early algebra and have enjoyed the challenge of mentally manipulating numbers within equations.
Our learning about the complex, twisted tale of the life of Mary, Queen of Scots has once again ignited the curiosity of the children. We had a super discussion earlier this week about why she married her third husband and why she was locked up in Loch Leven Castle. The children have been so engaged with their learning and produced some wonderful work connected to her life.
I would like to finish with a quick reminder and to all let all parents know that we have just started the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP) part of the Health and Wellbeing curriculum.  A PowerPoint was recently emailed out you from Mrs Howie that contains guidance of the areas we will be covering.  As we are a composite class, the P5’s will not be covering as much of the subjects mentioned as the P6’s will, and some lessons will be completed separately.  To assist you when reviewing the material, the class will recover subject material from First Level and some of the material from Second Level. I have asked the children to let you know directly that we have started RSHP in class and what we have discussed during lessons.
And finally, as I type this, I have just seen the weather forecast for the weekend and it is looking very promising for everyone to get out and enjoy that rare phenomena which is a little bit of Scottish sunshine. I hope you all have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
Mr. Morgan.
