Where are the days going? It feels like just yesterday that I was writing the last class update! Mostly filled with mini-enterprise activities, and our secret project, the pupils have all had a great week.

Our mini-enterprise work of creating pompom critters is coming along really well. Most groups have created a small amount of stock to ‘sell’. Although we will not be holding an actual Christmas Fair stall, I have asked the children to imagine that they are and to be just as diligent in their production and quality checks. I would anticipate that we should be finishing off our work on this topic next week with their critters heading home to you then too.

We have been doing some recording in class this week for our surprise. The class have had a great laugh doing it. We hope that you enjoy it when you see it next week.

It’s not all been Christmas activities this week. In Numeracy, we have explored the connections between multiplying and dividing by multiples of 10’s, 100’s and 1000’s. In Literacy, we have looked at the spelling rules around adding the suffixes – er and -est. Some found it quite challenging to remember the double letter rule for short vowel sound words.

The class was awash with colour today with some wonderful and colourful Christmas jumpers being worn. Well done P5/6 for getting into the festive mood.

Have a safe and relaxing weekend everyone.

Mr. Morgan.
