Good afternoon

Well, I think it is safe to say that the biggest highlight of the week was our Natural Connections Adventure Day to Fordell Firs. The children were SO excited to be going on a trip with everything from the trip on the bus to the packed lunch, not to mention the activities, causing great anticipation and excitement. However, when they told me that their last trip had been in primary 2 it was understandable that they were looking forward to it so much.
We all had such an amazing, fun packed day. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and it could not have been a better morning to spend enjoying time outdoors. The children were all very enthusiastic about the different activities they took part in. A number of children had to overcome a few fears and worries, but all tried their best and many were very proud of their personal achievements. It was lovely to see the children working so well together as teams, and all their recent work on developing their skills in working as part of a group was evident.
After lunch the children had time for free play on the grass, and I have to say that to watch 90 children enjoying playing together in a whole variety of different ways was so lovely to watch. A considerable number of them counted this as being amongst their highlights of their day. The children were a credit to both you as parents and to the school throughout the trip. They respected the rules of the different activities, worked well together and when we packed up to return to the bus there was not a single piece of litter left lying around.
Another big highlight of this week was, of course, sports day. It was lovely to welcome back parents to watch this annual highlight of the school calendar. All the recent practising of the various skills involved in the potted sports paid off and lots of good sportsmanship could be observed and heard.
It has been a very active and outdoors week – hopefully the weather will be kind and we can enjoy many more outside lessons this term.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
