Good afternoon
It has been yet another busy week in primary 5. This week we have been learning to calculate division sums with remainders, and have been learning to interpret what the remainder is telling us. We have been doing this through answering word problems, so that we understand when we would need to use these skills in real life. This has really been making us think this week! We also had a visit from Mr Grew from HSBC on Tuesday, and we learned how to be ‘Savvy Shoppers’. We looked at how to work out which deal was best when we are shopping – and how good deals are all about making good choices.
In literacy we have been learning how to retell a story. This has been very useful in helping us to write storyboards and scripts for our animations in ICT, where we have been practising using the ZU3D animation app. These are going very well, and we are very excited to start filming next week.
This week we have been planting flower seeds in our Field Good Friday session. We are going to grow these into seedlings for a few weeks and then we plan to plant them outdoors next term. We have our fingers crossed for a lovely splash of colour towards the summer.
I hope you have a lovely weekend, and that all the primary 5 Mum’s have a lovely day on Sunday.
