We have had another fun week of learning in Primary 5. In Literacy, we are busy recording our book reviews and they will be available to listen to on Seesaw very soon, and will be on display in our school lbrary too. Mrs Mitchell was helping us with the recording of these and reported back to me how impressed she was with the quality of the children's work, which was lovely to hear. In Writing this week, we were starting to learn how to write and structure personal recounts. This will be our focus for the next two weeks, as we practise our skills in writing these.
In Numeracy, we finished our project on fractions which linked nicely into a short mini topic on probabality. We have been learning the language of probability and carrying out some fun practical investigtions with dice, coins and counters.
In Health and Well-being, we have been continuing to learn how to deal with emergency situations, and this week we focused on broken bones. Everyone had a great time sharing their stories about themselves and family members tragically breaking bones. Just as well we now know what to do. In Bounce Back, we have also been thinking this week about the importance of keeping things in perspective. For Field Friday we were outdoors looking for signs of wildlife. We also released some butterflies into the wild after they had been hatched in The Hive. This tied in so well with our work on life cycles that we did last week. We then finished the session with some fun finding the colours of Spring and making an artist's palette with them.
I hope you have a lovely weekend
